off the banks of 2 rivers that meet in Bayonne, France is a workshop occupied with flea market finds, sculptors, curios
objects and rope wrapped furniture. This is the studio and home of artist, designer,
perfumer, artistic director, and jewelry designer Christian Astuguevielle. He is known for casing furniture and objects in
tight bundles of rope or cloth which is sought after by Nate Berkus, Philippe
Stark and Bottega Veneta to name a few. His studio/workshop is a place of bewilderment. The juxtaposition of odd shapes, textures and
quirkiness is what makes this space a little jewel of creativity.
