Brown + White

I know it's a little early, but I am so ready for fall and winter.  Brown and white are such cozy colors and create the perfect contrast.  They make me think of the winter months. Fall is right around the corner!

A Natural State

Here is a look at Brian Ferry's photographs of artist Joseph Shuldiners space and some of his inspiring creations at his California home.  Joseph has a fun collection of vintage objects and some cool mid century pottery mingled throughout.  I can appreciate Shuldiners approach to his art.
Using willow, eucalyptus, leaves, paper and found objects, Shuldiner’s work addresses the inherent tension between the natural state of his materials and the degree to which they are modified in the creation of his pieces.  The results are both inspired by and a commentary on such diverse influences as traditional Japanese Shinto aesthetics, animism and case study architecture of the 1960s.
