Hollister + Porter

The work of Hollister & Porter Hovey.  The sisters behind Hovey design based in Brooklyn, NY strive to add a sense of nostalgia, adventure, history and beauty to interior decor.  They believe that for any space to feel like home, the interiors should be filled with objects and stories that reflect the owner's true passions and self.  Happy Wednesday!

Dandy Land

I finally had the chance to stop by Matt's and Enrique's new storefront in my neighborhood of Hell's Kitchen, Fine and Dandy.  I was a little boy in a candy shop to say the least!  The dapper couple did a beautiful job with the store by creating a nostalgic atmosphere, one that gives you warm and fuzzies on the inside.  I've followed Fine and Dandy blog for quite some time now and have shopped their on line store over the years, but I must say walking into a space that has been created by these gentleman is like walking into an over-sized closet - a smart and sophisticated one with ascots, bow ties, pocket squares, pins, suspenders, and scarves to name a few, that are right at your fingertips allowing you to mix and match patterns, textures and colors to create the perfect ensemble or perhaps just a touch of formal to a casual outfit.  If you are looking for a gift for that man in your life or needing that final touch to your wardrobe, the shop is the perfect solution to completing that look. I certainly found myself wanting just about everything in the store, but I had to restrain and remind myself that this charming little closet of goodies is just a few blocks from my home, there to satisfy my every sartorial need!

The Definition Of Perfection

I love Stephen Sills work.  I had the chance to work with him for a couple days on a project in Sausalito, CA. and it was such a pleasure.  Stephen is the definition of perfection!  Here are some images of his newly photographed work in NYC.  Enjoy!

Happy Fall

My favorite time of year is upon us.  The days are getting shorter, nights cooler and the smell of natures decay is in the air.  Here are a few images I've collected to inspire.  Happy Fall!

A Tribeca Loft

Just had to post this one today.  Have a look at Vera Wang president Mario Grauso's, 3.000 square foot  loft he shares with his other half, Brood designer Serkan Sarier located in Tribeca. They have a nice looking collection of curiosities combined with just the right balance of color, texture, refinement and cozy.

Ariel Alasko's Studio

Brooklyn based wood worker Ariel Alasko makes some nifty tables, but I love peeking in her work space.  It's so rustic, worn and old looking.  She built her studio inside a larger space.  She framed and built the walls herself along with insulating, sheetrocking and soundproofing it.

Check out her cool blog, Brooklyn To West  and you can also check out her living space in Design Sponge which is equally as charming as her studio.

Patrik Lonn

Interior designer Patrik Lonn creates clean sophisticated interiors.  Heather Clawson of Habitually Chic visited the Hamptons Show House where Patrik designed the room below (first photo) which was inspired by the recent move of his horse to Lionshare Farm in Greenwich, Connecticut and even included his own Hermes saddle.  The other images are spaces that he has created throughout the East Coast area.
I love his use of the neutral palette with lots of different textures!
