A Rue Party!

I'm feeling a bit uninspired and lazy today, so I thought I would just throw up this video from the latest Rue Magazine.  It's a two minute clip of their holiday party.  It made me laugh and smile.  The Rue team seems like they know how to have a good time. Oh, and some can bust a move too! Cheers everyone, and Happy Friday!

A Showroom Home

A rotating collection of mid century furniture and art work in this Upper West Side Apartment is switched out every three months.  Once the decorator duo sells a piece they bring in new ones.  It kinda sounds like what I do with accessories.  Gustavo and Mark travel the Globe to seek out playful wares and chic furniture to maintain a fresh Pied-a-Terre and gallery space for GM Decor

Stephen Sills and Apthorp

Some say the Apthorp building, designed by Clinton & Russell between 1906 and 1908 is the most beautiful residential building in NYC.  Just recently, the designer known for classic interiors, Stephen Sills was selected as the creative director for this NYC landmark.  I have no doubt that this Upper West Side gem will in fact be the most beautiful complex in the city after Sills waves his magic wand over it!  Stephen's work below is testament to this.

Eggs & Bottles

I was so happy to discover Ion Zupcu's work at an Auction last month.  Zupcu photographs objects in such a way that gives them a mysterious antiquated appearance with blurred lines and smokey sepias, which is what attracted me to the Romanian born artist.  The stacked collections remind me a bit of Irving Penn's concept he did in the 1980's.  Ion says "People don't have time to stop and discuss the way they feel about shapes, styles, and objects they see, so my images are a conversation with myself, a diary of what I see."
