Functional Art?

In any case, there is something to be said about a craft such as this to be passed down.  They are getting a head start at the ages of 7 and 9 years old.  Julian, Maris and Thijme receive 1 Euro for every piece of hand-built pine furniture they paint, and are only allowed to work 3 hours pr week due to the Dutch labor laws.  I love the video of them painting the furniture. Lucas Maassen + Sons is one serious factory.

Pottery Inspiration

The delicate and stunning pottery of Jennifer Lee.  Such and Inspiration.

Lanvin

Since we are in the beginning of NYC Fashion Week, I was browsing the fashion blogs and came across Lanvin's Fall/Winter 2012-2013 collection that was shown in Paris.  In love with most it, but not all. These are my favorites.  Enjoy, and Happy Fashion!

Nordal

I Just discovered Nordal in Denmark.  Some of the products are a bit too tchotchke for my taste, but a portion of the inventory is nice.  The industrial textured quality of the collection caught my attention and the styling is yum yum.  I think it's worthy of a posting, so here we are!

Paper Curiosities

Australian artist Anna - Wili creates these detailed paper sculptures.  Ever since I saw the exhibit Slashed (Paper cut art) at Museum of Arts and Design a couple years ago, I've been completely obsessed with this art form.  Anna's work is mostly commissioned for companies such as Hermes and Anthropologie.  But, I would die for a little paper owl!
